Winter Shoot for the Chamber

These are some fun pics I recently captured in and around the warming shelter at Haumerson's Pond for the Chamber. The Eisstok game was cool to see in person and learn about.

This weekend is the Candlelight Ski & Hike Night from 3-8pm on Saturday!

Business is Booming!

223957312_10161011307136978_5638832960289729498_n.jpeg

Finished sign I designed for the shop at Brindle Ink. Measures 36"x20", printed on 3mm plastic with a protective laminate so it'll last through whatever weather Wisconsin throws at it.

Things are rolling along at break neck speeds at both businesses. It's been a crazy swing from my toughest business year in 2020 to what'll likely be my best. Looking at my scope of current projects and ones booked, I'll only be accepting a very limited number of photography, videography, and design work for the remainder of this year.

As always, thanks for the tremendous support of my creative endeavors!

A fun project I've been helping with came to life today! From marketing materials to label design I've been working with Mangiami Italiano as they start make and sell their own marinara sauce. Right now it's available at the restaurant, the Lake Mills Farmers market, and soon coming to local stores.

New 100mm Macro lens

Some colorful photos to brighten your Sunday. Trying out my newest lens in the yard this morning, the RF 100mm F2.8L Macro. Will be great for taking close up detail shots at weddings and as another portrait lens with its 100mm focal length.

Starting a Second Business!

Opening.jpg

Happy to share that Ben Weiss, Brandon Housley, and myself are starting a new business. Brindle Ink, a screen printing business soon to be opening in Fort Atkinson, WI. We each bring unique backgrounds and skill sets to our newest venture. Ben has extensive experience in screen printing. Brandon has helped establish multiple successful businesses in town and has deep roots to the community. My creative skills and graphic design background make screen printing a natural fit. We’re in the process of revitalizing a space on Madison Ave, moving equipment, building our website and designing a logo. So while we've got a lot of work to do, we plan on doing some test runs soon and hope to be open by early this summer.

Fort Chamber Ambassador

140466656_10160481293441978_5268798508605947384_o.jpg

I'm happy to share I've been accepted to serve a three year term as an Ambassador for the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce.
I've lived in Fort for almost 13 years now. It's where I have my home and have grown my business. I've found the Fort Chamber to be a great organization that fosters community, tourism, events, and aides in the growth of businesses. I've made many wonderful connections through the Chamber, both personally and professionally. Now I'm excited to get more involved and bring some creative ideas to the table as we work to navigate out of the challenges from the past year.

Happy New Year!

133472619_10160425031946978_2559112328854317437_o.jpg

Happy New Years Eve!
We're all ready to turn the page on this year, especially us small business's owners. Being a freelance artist is never easy and always a bit of roller coaster. Certainly with even greater highs and lows this past year. I feel confident knowing that if my business can weather 2020, it can make it through anything.

The year wasn't without some bright moments. I found new ways to donate creative items to local youth when things were shut down. Lots of great portrait sessions and more intimate weddings. I gained more long term design clients. My videography and real estate work continues to grow. Had new adventures of selling handmade items and family craft kits through Etsy, the Fort Farmers Market and at This & That at The Mill. I was featured on News 3 Now / Channel 3000 and had a couple mentions in the Daily Jefferson County Union newspaper. Was honored to receive the Coolest Thing Made in Fort award for my fishing decoys from the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce. Also was honored with a honorable mention in ag photography from AAEA- The Ag Communicators Network.

A sincere thank you to every individual, business, and association that continues to rely on me for their creative needs year after year. That trust and support is not taken for granted. Cheers to a brighter future in 2021!

Fort Atkinson Visitor Guide

Last year I captured a lot of area businesses, events, and scenes for the new Fort Atkinson visitor guide, that was recently printed. I think the book turned out excellent and is a great reminder of all the things we love about Fort Atkinson. You can view the booklet online or find printed versions at the Chamber. https://fortchamber.com/visitor-guide

Hey Fort Atkinson area friends! Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Brandon Housley Real Estate, we just donated over 60 wood cutouts and 150+ Fort Community coloring pages to the Dwight Foster Public Library (Fort Atkinson to distribute through their Craft Club. I also made a coloring page of the library that is currently only available there. So next time you're doing curbside pickup of your favorite book, be sure to also request some creative items to help keep your kids busy.

Kids Art Tent

Wow, what a perfect morning volunteering at the Kids Art Tent . I can’t believe the turnout of both kids and adults that stopped by. I made 62 cutouts for kids to paint and ran out of them shortly before the Fort Farmers Market ended. I then spent the afternoon at the Fort Fall Fiesta capturing photos of the event.
